Booklet "Geological walk in Grenoble"

The booklet Geological walk in Grenoble, co-authored by Jérôme Nomade (professor-researcher at ISTerre), Jacques Bouffette (Geosciences Rennes) and Emmanuel Robert (University C. Bernard, Lyon I) at Editions Biotope, aims to raise awareness among the general public and geology lovers during a walk in the city centre of Grenoble.

This booklet allows you to discover the impact of the geological environment on the development of the city and on our daily lives (importance of the geological site for the installation of Grenoble, major geological risks facing the city, evolution of urban planning...) as well as some simple geological phenomena observable on certain building stones (fossils, size of minerals, deformation of rocks...).

About thirty pages long, this colourful booklet is part of a common collection of the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM), in the Société Géologique de France and at Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, directed by Professor Patrick de Wever. It was designed with the financial support of the ISTerre laboratory, the Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers de Grenoble (OSUG) and Grenoble-Alpes Métropole.
