***Summary
The aim is to study the Albian transgression in northern Sinai where these series are fossiliferous, and to establish collaborations with the Department of Geology of Cairo University. Due to the current political situation in Egypt, W. Hassanien Kassab’s thesis topic now focuses on the transgression of the Upper Aptian-Albian region in Morocco, in particular the evolution of nannofossil assemblages as markers of paleoenvironments and carbonate production.
