 Amount : 3500 €

Project description

This request for funding is part of a collaborative project planned with the University of Lisbon and BRGM, as part of the Unite ! European alliance and the Doctoral Network in Energy Integration project, in response to the European call for proposals HORIZON- MSCA-2021-DN-01 (MSCA Doctoral Networks 2021). Its aim is to fund a field mission to coordinate our collaboration with on-site investigations to calibrate our numerical models and also to test the capabilities of a gas measurement device (skz1050E-H2 CO2 CH4), which has yet to be acquired but is inexpensive and necessary for our field investigations. Our numerical models are an extension of the MRST open source software used for reservoir modelling and simulation. It was developed mainly by the Computational Geosciences group in SINTEF Digital’s Mathematics and Cybernetics department. By introducing the equations of state for various gases (H2, CH4, CO2) and coupling relationships, our aim is to provide the basis for a THMX model to characterise the migration of multiphase fluids along faults.
