Data

Scope of the group: subjects relating to data management

The objective of the data@ISTerre group:

  • Collectively develop skills on the subject of good practices around data management (storage, handling of large amounts of data, metadata, DMP, FAIR, licenses, etc.)
  • Propose tools to better understand, plan and group, where possible, actions associated with data management
  • Relay information (lab, Grenoble site, national) on the theme of data storage and management
  • Share information and expertise within the group,
  • Implement ISTerre-specific training or refer to external training
  • Define common rules for the proper management of large data sets
  • Support preparation of funding proposals
  • To be a source of proposals to the ISTerre management

Questions more specific to calculations are handled by the dedicated group isterre-calcul@ISTerre

Information on the group and associated events is transmitted via a mailing list (isterre-data univ-grenoble-alpes.fr)

A group meeting with presentations and discussions is organized every first Monday of the month at 11am

Since 2020, the Calcul@ISTerre and Data@ISTerre groups have merged into one single CaDo@ISTerre group, animated by P. Boué, O. Henriot, A. Lecointre, A. Tarayoun and F. Thollard.


Calcul

Object: everything about scientific computations and data processing at ISTerre

Missions:

  • sharing informations and expertise about lab, university and national ressources for scientific computations and data processing
  • good practice definition and guide for newcomers and beginners
  • support for the pooling of resources,
  • definition of rules for the exploitation and sharing of resources,
  • support for project development...

Questions related to data (metadata, distribution, legal aspects, DMP...) are handled by the dedicated data@ISTerre group
